1 Peter 5:7
I like this picture for a couple of reasons. One, I just think it looks cool. Two, I like the light coming down in the background. When you see Naples and begin to understand the culture, you discover it’s a hard life for these people. We’re not talking Africa or some parts in Asia, but we are talking about a pretty rough life in an “Italian” context. When you talk to people they often describe a their life as “duro” (hard) or “dificile” (difficult). This picture reminds me of the light in the bible that says “I will never leave you or forsake you”. In the states, I think it’s easy to get caught up in calling on God when things get down, when it’s hard. Here, it seems to be “difficult” more often. One of the ways I think people have dealt with that is by categorizing their problems into different areas, i.e. creating saints for every possible problem imaginable. It’s a way to shed your worries off of yourself and into the hands of something else, bigger than yourself. The only problem with that way of thinking is that Peter said to “cast your anxieties upon Jesus, because he cares for you”. I think I can do that.

this is a sweet pic! did you color correct it at all?
